After Wedding Photo Shoot on the Isle of Skye, February, 2018
Let´s go for a wee walk…
Roz and Alex live in the little town of Portree on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. They had just tied the knot in January. When they saw on Instagram that we were in the area, they impulsively decided to book an after wedding photo shoot with us. Originally it was planned the photo shoot for the afternoon, but upon their advice , we decided to do it right after breakfast. When it comes to Scottish weather, it proved to be a wise decision to listen to the locals. We had already noticed earlier in our trip, that you can nearly have all four seasons in one day in Scotland.
Scottish weather god
Strengthened by a good breakfast, we drove up a little further north of Portree. It had snowed during the night, so we got a winter wonder-world with blue skies and sunshine. Equipped with good footwear, we walked cross-country towards a waterfall. We also noticed that Scotland is in fact the wettest country we have ever been to. Out on the turf it feels just like walking on a sponge. You need to pay attention so that you don’t suddenly stand somewhere with the morass up to over your ankle. However, it wasn’t a problem for us. We had good shoes and Roz and Alex knew where to step. Surrounded by the fresh snow and rugged natural beauty of the landscape, the couple looked stunning in their wedding dress and suit.
Only two weeks removed from their wedding, the special memories and joyfulness of their wedding day was rejuvenated as the couple enjoyed this special photo session in their wedding attire. You could really feel the love in the air between these two. Of course we were quickly reminded that in Scotland the weather will not stay perfect for long. . At first we just saw one cloud cloud on the horizon. After that, everything changed very quickly. . The sky grew dark and soon it started to hail and snow. Undaunted, Roz just stood there in her wedding dress and braved the Scottish weather. As fast as it came, the weather pushed along and we could head back so Roz and Alex could seek some warmth.
Isle of Skye
The weather had a lot on its mind on that day and shortly afterwards it started snowing so much that our plan to drive around the north tip of the island fell through. By doing the photo shoot in the morning, Roz and Alex had beautiful pictures of themselves enjoying Scotland’s winter wonder-world.
